Children & Young People

Children and young people are at the centre of the church’s life as much as anyone else! Our heart for children, young people, and their families is that they may know the power, love, and grace of God for themselves as young disciples of Jesus Christ.

Sundays are the main time the whole church gathers to worship, pray, and encounter God together and there is space and activities for children and young people. As the Renewal Project develops our vision is that our children’s and youth ministries will become more varied and vibrant! We’d love you to come and join us!

Beyond Sundays, here are the other things going on for children and young people:

Messy Church

Messy Church is a way of exploring the bible through a range of activities, hospitality, as a celebration of Jesus and all he has done for us. Messy Church is for anyone of any age. A typical Messy Church session involves a creative explosion of a biblical theme with craft and sensory activities, games, prayer songs and finishing with the sharing of food together. Messy Church is a place to ask questions and explore the bible in a different way to a more traditional Church service.

Messy Church runs on the last Saturday of the month from 10am - noon at St Stephen's. In the summer we host a special outdoor Messy. At Christmas we have a Messy Crib Service and we also do a special Messy for Easter on Good Friday at Emmanuel Church.

RENEWAL PROJECT

We are praying tenaciously for a revival of Christian faith in Redditch and beyond.

Conversations started back in March 2023 that place St Stephen’s Redditch at the centre of a regional strategy for renewal in the Anglican church. The rubber is hitting the road now and so beginning in autumn 2024 we’re going to experience some flux.
