Renewal Project

Conversations started back in March 2023 that place St Stephen’s Redditch at the centre of a regional strategy for renewal in the Anglican church. The rubber is hitting the road now and so beginning in autumn 2024 we’re going to experience some flux. Through fresh vision, leadership, resources, and some work to the building we are praying tenaciously for a revival of Christian faith in Redditch and beyond.

Change can be disruptive and uncomfortable. Though things will look and feel different we hope everyone might find themselves at the heart of what’s taking place. We believe the church – the body of Christ – means every believer plays a functional part, and together we bring the church’s life and mission alive. Usual rhythms will be disrupted, and we may have to vacate our building for a season. Again, our hope and prayer is that everyone might be up for the adventure.

So, what does

this mean?

Much of the detail is still developing, but here is where things are heading:

Things will feel more contemporary, but we will not lose substance.

The building will change but continue to serve the church’s vision

The culture will intensify, but everyone will still be warmly welcomed.

Things will get more creative, but not at the expense of integrity or stability.

A new minister and staff team members will arrive, but with a remit of equipping and releasing all the saints.
